The Xfinity Voice Education project, lasting four months, aimed to boost customer engagement and retention by enhancing how first-time customers learn about voice commands. As Design Lead, I conducted research and competitive analysis, hosted workshop, leading to a pivot from creating a full new experience to improving the existing "What Can I Say?" (WCIS) feature.

We refined both the content strategy and visual design of the WCIS experience, resulting in a 20% to 70% increase in promoted voice commands. The insights gained from this project informed future product initiatives, and my visual treatment was adopted across multiple Xfinity interfaces.

The Xfinity Hands-Free Remote project aimed to expand the TV from an entertainment hub to home control and beyond, enabling hands-free device management through voice commands. As the Lead Designer, I guided the design process, collaborated with cross-functional teams, facilitated workshops to define design principles, created mockups, and wrote technical design documents. I also led usability testing to identify pain points and worked with the prototyping team to iterate on solutions.

A major achievement was improving the clarity of the setup process through a redesigned Getting Started Guide (GSG) and an FTUE video, which received positive user feedback. The insights gained from this project will inform future innovations in hands-free smart home technology.

The PhillyCHI rebranding project aimed to refresh the organization’s visual identity for its 15th anniversary. As the 2020 Chair and Creative Director, I led the initiative to redefine the brand strategy, update the mission statement, and establish core values. Working with a team of designers, we developed a bold and flexible visual system inspired by Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and murals.

Key achievements included aligning the brand with PhillyCHI’s values—Inclusion, Connection, Relevance, and Compassion—while creating a new visual identity that reflects the organization’s mission and future growth.

^{“Alexa, what should I watch?” combines Alexa AI and Fire TV recommendations to turn Alexa into an entertainment expert who provides relevant suggestions with a conversational customer experience. Customers can customize the recommendations using voice prompts like “just the ones that are free to me” or by using their remote to select filters on the screen, watch trailers, view additional information (e.g genre, ratings), and initiate playback.

This innovative product sets the foundation for future LLM-based search capabilities on Fire TV.}

Xfinity Voice Suggestions

^{Voice suggestions are targeted messages triggered by a specific event to provide well-timed, personalized tips and information that help users become successful voice users and, therefore, disrupt their D-pad habits and adopt voice features.

This work resulted in a +0.7% increase in voice suggestion success rate, and 1.2M additional weekly voice commands.}
